After a long journey, our team made it to Japan! We shared our first group meal at Sanukiya Anamori, a small family-owned restaurant with traditional Japanese food. We enjoyed various new cuisine as we talked, laughed, and learned more about one another! We concluded the rainy evening with a visit to the temple Anamori Inari Jinja, dedicated to the deity “Toyoukehime-no-Mikoto”, a “Fox God” of fertility. While there, we learned how to make a traditional wish. Today our group will head to Hiroshima, ready to delve into Japanese history. It’s been a wonderful start to our adventure here, and we are so excited for all that is to come.
