While it may seem Hiroshima as a city has largely recovered from the war, there still remain places where the effects of the A-bomb can be seen in the form of ruins, museums, and memorials. The museum in Hiroshima showed up close the result of the bombing on the people living there. But while the bombing is a big part of its history, that is not all there is to it. Itsukushima Shrine, with its floating tori gate and sacred deer, is located in Hiroshima. The huge gate is undeniably stunning, especially when the tide comes in and gives the gate the appearance of floating. Hiroshima is a place with a difficult history, but there are still parts of undeniable beauty.
